Dear friends in education, outdoor learning, and youth development,

The Hong Kong Outdoor Learning Association is excited to share the first draft of our new guidance document: Working with OAE Providers.

This 31-page resource aims to help school leaders, teachers, and administrators build effective, safe, and impactful partnerships with external providers for outdoor learning programmes.

It covers key areas such as selecting a provider, safety and risk management, programme design, roles and responsibilities, and inclusive practices.

However, this is only a draft - and therefore, we invite you to read and give your feedback to make it even better.

Your feedback will shape the final version. We especially value perspectives from teachers, school leaders, outdoor providers, parents, and those with expertise in inclusion or safeguarding.

Type of feedback wanted

To help you provide targeted comments, please focus on:

  • Content gaps: Is anything important missing (e.g., specific Hong Kong regulations, practical examples, or cultural considerations)?

  • Clarity and usability: Are sections confusing, too technical, or hard to apply in a school setting?

  • Structure and tone: Does it flow logically? Is the language practical and accessible?

How to share your feedback (easy options):

  • Download the draft below.

  • Email us - Use this simple format (Section/Page – What works – Suggested improvement.) in an email to info@hkoutdoorlearning.org

  • Add comments - or add your comments in the downloaded draft, and send back to us.

Please send your thoughts by Wednesday, 1st April 2026.

Reading and responding should take about 20-30 minutes. We’ll review all input, share a summary of changes, and acknowledge contributors (opt-out available).

Thank you for helping us create guidance that truly supports Hong Kong schools and young people. Honest, constructive feedback—even critical—is greatly appreciated!
