Before joining ICHK as the Head of +1 Centre, Emma worked in two other international schools in Hong Kong within the Special Educational Needs departments, teaching students from early years to secondary school. Emma strongly believes in a holistic and skills-based approach to teaching students, emphasising real-life situations. Outside of school, Emma Captains her hockey team and is part of the Valley Committee.

Dr. David Marsden's impact on outdoor education spans over thirty years, starting with his early adventures in the wilderness of South Eastern Australia. Those formative experiences ignited a passion that propelled him through a diverse career, transitioning from technical instructor to outdoor educator, academic, consultant, and executive. Throughout his journey, he has worked with various age groups and cultural backgrounds, facilitating immersive experiences grounded in slow and wild pedagogies. He is also the founder of The OREAS Group.

His doctoral research focused on creating a framework to improve the skills of pre-service outdoor educators through hands-on experience.

In addition to his leadership roles, Dave is a strong advocate for outdoor education, emphasizing its role in fostering human care and environmental stewardship. He currently serves on the board of Outdoors Victoria and is the deputy chair of the National Centre for Outdoor Risk and Readiness advisory group. Passionate about the power of outdoor education to forge meaningful connections, he is committed to empowering individuals through transformative experiences in nature.

A seasoned outdoor education instructor and registered social worker with over 20 years of experience in experiential nature connection in Hong Kong. William founded Nature Bathing, a social enterprise, in 2017 in order to offer preventive solutions to the stressed communities using nature-based intervention to enhance holistic wellbeing, social inclusion and community resilience.
William is also a Wilderness Medical Associates International Wilderness First Aid Instructor, a certified FTHub Nature Connection Specialist Trainer and an ANFT Forest Bathing Guide, who provides programs and training for all walks of life, including participants from kindergartens and schools, major corporations and social service organisations.
His work empowers people to foster deeper connections between people, society, and nature. Leading a team of forest therapy guides, ecology specialists and play therapy practitioners, he has served over 20,000 people to reduce stress and reconnect with nature and the community.

Matt is a passionate environmental educator, seasoned outdoor leader, and dedicated conservationist. With over a 15 year experience designing and delivering immersive outdoor education programs across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, he specializes in fostering environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
As the Program Director at ISSC since 2019, Matthew continues to develop transformative outdoor learning experiences inspired by the ocean, guiding thousands of students through surf camps, wilderness expeditions, and conservation-based learning experiences. His expertise lies in integrating sustainability, risk management, and leadership development into experiential learning, Matt continues to inspire the next generation of adventurers and environmental champions.

Ho Mei has extensive experience as a primary school teacher, and is also a forest schools educator and leads outdoor trips. He has pioneered ICHK Hong Lok Yuen’s outdoor learning programme, including the establishment of the school’s mini-forest which recently won the International Schools Awards for Sustainability in 2023.
