In support of this research, HKOLA would like to invite organisations delivering outdoor education programs in Hong Kong to participate in an important research survey aimed at investigating the scale and impact of Hong Kong's outdoor education sector. The expertise and insights of people working in Hong Kong's outdoor learning sector are invaluable in contributing to our understanding of the current landscape.
The purpose of this survey is to gather updated information on Hong Kong's outdoor education sector, building upon research conducted in 2005. By participating, you will help us gain valuable insights into the industry's growth, challenges, and impact over the past two decades. The findings from this study will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of outdoor education in Hong Kong and we hope will assist in shaping future policies and practices.
To ensure the confidentiality and anonymity of your responses, the survey has been designed as an anonymous and confidential study. Your individual responses will be treated with the utmost care and will only be used for research purposes. No personally identifiable information will be collected or disclosed. The information collected will be summarised and written up to be disseminated through a sector report and journal articles.
To participate in the survey for organisations, please click on the above link. The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and will require data on the organisation's staff, participants and annual turnover. Deadline: Sunday 16th June 2024.
This research project also aims to investigate the scale, demographics and key influences on the current outdoor education workforce. By involving them, we can obtain a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced at the grassroots level. If you are working in outdoor education in Hong Kong (or have in the last 20 years) then the research team invites you to complete the below survey.
The findings of this study hold immense value for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders invested in the growth and development of outdoor education in Hong Kong. By providing an updated and comprehensive overview of the sector, it is hoped that the research can inform strategic decision-making, curriculum development, and resource allocation. The study will also serve as a foundation for future research and inquiry into the evolving nature of outdoor education.
