In this highly interactive 1.5-hour workshop, participants will step out of passive listening and into active design. We will explore practical frameworks to turn physical and conceptual learning spaces into collaborative hubs of inquiry, resilience, and action. Rooted in experiential practice, this session will guide educators through hands-on mapping activities, collaborative brainstorming, and a brief outdoor simulation.

Outdoor Learning Lead, Dalton School Hong Kong
Michael Hoskins is an experienced outdoor educator and curriculum designer with over a decade of experience facilitating learning through diverse curricula in Hong Kong and internationally.
He is currently designing, creating, and implementing a brand-new program at DSHK, focusing on outdoor learning across primary school and coaching middle school staff to become effective Project-Based Learning (PBL) facilitators. Passionate about bridging the gap between traditional classrooms and the natural world, Michael specializes in designing "Basecamp" learning environments that foster resilience, collaboration, and environmental stewardship.
Outside of curriculum design, Michael is an accomplished wildlife photographer and a keen naturalist with a deep passion for the lepidoptera of Hong Kong. He is thrilled to share his practical strategies at HKOLA 2026 to help educators co-create impactful learning journeys for a better future.
